V for Video Coming Soon!

ArtTrail and Cork Film Centre are presenting a video-art trail this week in five Cork City pubs.

The venues are: Bradley's, Barrack St., Tom Barry's, Barrack St., LV's, MacCurtain St., Henchy's, St. Luke's Cross. and The Roundy, Castle St., with a launch/preview in The Roundy at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 22nd.

A different selection of works will be shown on loop in each venue, between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th and Saturday 25th (times in some venues vary - Henchy's will only run from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday, and 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday night).

This is the first in a series of research events by ArtTrail in 2009 : each will focus on a different artform or issue, and ask both artists and audience about their interest and involvement with that artform or issue.

The programming of V For Video draws on Cork Film Centre's long established and widely recognised support of and engagement with video art.

V for Video will launch upstairs at The Roundy on Wednesday 22nd April from 8pm, with a preview of all works. There will be a short survey for you to fill out on the night too, asking for your responses, questions, and ideas in relation to video art in Cork.

We are grateful to all the venues for facilitating this project, and particularly to all the artists who have given their work to it.

A full programme of all works and artists included will follow shortly.
